Hilleberg Nammatj 2 GT Tent Description

  • Brand : Hilleberg
  • Season : SS17
  • Code : 5004558
  • Weight : 0KG
  • The Nammatj 2 GT tent is the extended vestibule version of the Nammatj 2, which are arguably Hilleberg's most versatile tents. It is superb in all seasons for above tree-line use or for demanding, extended winter camping trips, yet is easily light enough for long trips in more moderate climes. Part of Hilleberg's Black Range, the Nammatj benefits from Kerlon 1800 (18kg tear strength) flysheet fabric and 10mm DAC alloy poles for ultimate strength.

The Nammatj 2 GT is excellent for limited-space sites such as narrow ridge lines or ledges and is geared more for mobile adventures, where you pitch and strike your tent every day. Because of its very low weight and small footprint, the Nammatj GT has become immensely popular with extreme users, such as polar travellers looking to save weight, mountaineers doing remote routes in the highest ranges, professional guides, and military special forces teams.

With its superb weight to strength ratio and remarkable low weight the Nammatj is highly prized by more “regular” users, as well: backpackers, cycle and paddle tourers, and anyone needing maximum strength while reducing weight.

    Sizing Information

    Technical Information

    • Large Vestibule with vent for maximum ventilation and sheltered cooking
    • Linked inner and outer tent - easily taken apart for separate use
    • Vertical inner tent entrance
    • Integrated snowproof vent in entrance panel
    • Tunnel design, with a single-opening makes the tent very simple to erect.
    • Continuous pole sleeve construction adds structural integrity and makes slotting the poles easier - also with room for double poles.
    • Kerlon 1800 outer tent fabric and 10 mm poles make for an exceptionally stable tent.
    • Pitching requires only four pegs, yet additional peg and guy line points provide a variety of options for increasing stability.
    • Remarkably strong Spectra guy lines are attached at two points to all poles sleeves on both sides of the tent, and have two line runners each to ensure optimal tension. Each vent also has a guy line with a line runner.
    • Spacious interiors with full sitting height in most of the inner tent.
    • One vertical inner tent entrance makes access easy and quick.
    • Near-vertical side walls thanks to the tunnel design itself mean that there is a greater feeling of roominess.
    • A single entrance and vestibule afford easy access and plenty of storage space, but keep the weight very low.
    • No-see-um mesh door (which can be zipped off completely), and a multi-slider zipper door that can be opened from the top, side, or bottom.
    • Ventilation works regardless of the weather conditions, since the inner tent fabric is highly breathable yet water repellent, and since each end has a large vent

    • Hilleberg Nammatj 2 GT Tent Review

      By Richard Smith on 5
A quite excellent tent that lives up to its reputation. We have used it so far in half a metre of snow and on another occasion in continual driving rain. It is very easy and quick to pitch with the poles all being the same length which was superb. Inside the sleeping area is just the right size for 2 but could take 3. The vestibule is huge and really makes camping in all weathers much more comfor
