The Chamonix Zip Sweater combines the functionality and performance of a technical fleece with the cosiness of your favourite wool sweater. This super warm top looks equally great at the crag or in the cafe.
With Pre-Order, you can purchase the latest items added to our store in advance of them arriving with us.
You Pre-Order is prioritised (at no additional charge); meaning that, as soon as the product arrives with us, we can wrap it straight back up and get it sent out to you - it often never even hits the stock room shelves!
With Pre-Launch, the date when we expect to receive the product ourselves is still a little too hazy to be confident in accepting Pre-Orders.
So, instead, you can submit your email address against the item you are interested in and we will email you as soon as stock arrives on the system.
Estimated Delivery Dates are given on Pre-Order and Pre-Launch products. They are for indication purposes only and can change at any time without notice.
The dates we provide are based on indications given by our suppliers. Whenever we get updated information from our suppliers we will endeavour to update the Estimated Delivery Dates provided on product pages.
The Pontetorto® Technowool fabric is a clever blend of polyester fleece and wool, creating a very durable and comfortable garment, that looks great and is very versatile. Not the most technical looking piece from the Mountain Equipment range, but the Chamonix zip is highly versatile for both work and play. It's ideally suited to kicking back at the campsite, country walks through Spring and autumn or going for a well earned post climbing beer

Chamonix zip sweater in Broadleaf green.
Used as a mid layer over a Merino base layer, for alpine and Nordic skiing. Im 54, 59/40" chest and the M is a good close fit without being at all restrictive as its stretchy. I add a light belay jacket (also from TCS) under an ME shell on the coldest alpine days. MEs sleeves typically come up a little long on me (my arms are 34" from neck of shirt). The Chamonixs alpine fit sleeve accentuates this a bit but not so much that it looks silly thanks to the lycra-bound cuffs. Well made and finished, no sign of any pilling, or pulling seams. The Merino/fleece mix breathes and wicks well. Smart enough for what passes for my après these days too!
5 stars. A small zip pocket on the left forearm or bicep (like the early Arcteryx Covert Sweater) would make it a 6.
Oh, and great service from Climbers Shop (TCS) goes without saying (I dont work for them). Good prices with fast delivery. Have used TCS before and now always check their website when Im in the market (as I did this time).
