Returns and Refunds

Online Returns Information:

  • In the event that your purchase is not suitable, for whatever reason, you have the right to return it to us.
  • Goods should be returned in new condition, unused, and with their original undamaged packaging.
  • We aim to process all returns within 72 hours. This may take slightly longer at busy times of the year. We will e-mail you once your return has been processed.
  • Any items returned will be refunded unless faulty or shipped in error.
  • If you wish to exchange an item for any reason, please place a new order for the items that you want.
  • Please note that it is your responsibility to pay for the return postage costs, no postage costs are refundable.
  • Goods may be returned for a refund within 30 days of receipt.
  • You do not need to contact us to notify us of your return unless the item is faulty or is outside of our 30-day policy.
  • Goods must be packaged securely to ensure they are not damaged in transit. The responsibility and liability of the goods remain with you until we are in receipt of the goods.
  • For health and safety reasons face masks cannot be returned for an exchange or refund.
  • Climbing & PPE Safety Equipment can only be returned on very strict conditions. Everything must be exactly as it was received, with packaging and labelling intact. If there is any sign or possibility that the goods have been used or contaminated then we regret that we are unable to accept a return on the grounds of consumer safety.
  • In the unlikely event that your purchase develops a fault, for whatever reason, then please contact us first either by telephone or email for further instructions. In the majority of cases, any faulty goods will have to be returned to us and then forwarded on to their respective suppliers for inspection. Please be aware that this process may take several weeks in some cases. Any postage costs paid will be refunded by THE CLIMBERS SHOP if a product is deemed as faulty and still under a manufacturer's warranty.

This kit combines Grangers Down Wash with three handy dryer balls, making cleaning down so much easier.

We’ve all been guilty of avoiding washing our down jacket or favourite down sleeping bag. It’s scary isn’t it? You’ve invested your money in a lovely jacket that keeps you warm and dry and yet in one wash you could reduce it to a clumpy disfigured mess – but taking care of your down is important. If you don’t keep it clean, then it won’t perform as well, and this is why they invented the Down Wash kit, to take away that fear.

This kit includes:

Down Wash, a powerful, yet gentle, cleaner specifically formulated to clean all your down and synthetic down-filled articles without damaging or inhibiting insulation or hydrophobic properties. Normal detergents shouldn’t be used on down articles as they can hinder the performance by leaving various chemical residues behind and reducing the garment’s ability to insulate or repel water. Luckily, Grangers Down Wash is exactly that, a wash that has been formulated to thoroughly clean down items without damaging the delicate material within.

Previously, people have used tennis balls, but these can actually leak colour onto the garment and crush the down. We recommend these dryer balls as they gently restore loft, meaning your down will be back to maximum performance.

  • Suitable for use on all down-filled articles, including sleeping bags and jackets.
  • Removes dirt and neutralises odour without reducing loft or impairing performance.
  • Includes three reusable dryer balls to prevent down clumping and improve drying time.
  • Grangers Down Wash is a bluesign® system approved product. 
Technical Information

Grangers Down Wash Kit includes a gentle wash-in cleaner, free from the perfumes, optical brighteners, and heavy cleaning agents found in regular laundry detergents.

Contains <5 % non-ionic surfactants, preservative(1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one, 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one).

Usage instructions are as follows:

  • Use one 50ml capful per wash load, or half a cap if hand-washing.
  • For sleeping bags, use two capfuls.
  • If possible, avoid washing down items in top-loading washing machines as this can potentially damage the down filling.
  • Wash on a full cycle (wash, rinse, and spin) at 30°C or 86°F. Dry down garments as per their care label instructions; always tumble dry where possible.
  • Dry on a low heat for two to three hours, or until the garment is completely dry.
  • Add all three dryer balls to the drum of the dryer for the duration of the drying process.
