The Scarpa Phantom Tech is an evolution of the superb Phantom Guide boot, reducing the weight (by about 15%), upgrading the warmth and introducing an innovative spiral Flexseal® waterproof zip, that reduces pressures points across the top of the foot. Designed for ice and mixed climbing, winter alpinism and classic alpinism, and are bound to be popular with UK winter activists too
As with the Phantom Guide it uses an inner boot and outer gaiter construction. However, warmth and durability have been boosted in the Phantom Tech, with the inclusion of Cordura Microtech 3D mesh/aluminium and Primaloft® Micropile insulated shell construction. The waterproof Flexseal® spiral zip twists around the foot, as opposed to zipping up the centre. This reduces flexing, improving weatherproof performance, and eliminates any pressure points on the upper foot when walking.
Featuring Scarpa's new NAG last, which has been co-developed with the Swiss machine, Ueli Steck, the NAG last provides exceptional comfort, precision and feel, with climbing power being concentrated towards the front on the boot. Perfect for extended periods spent on your crampon front points.
With a full carbon sole stiffener, that maintains rigidity, but keeps the weight to a minimum, a fully waterproof OutDry membrane, as well as super tough, durable fabrics, the Phantom Techs will become the 'Go To' boot for cold weather, high mountain adventures, right up to the 6000 metre mark.
